To be honest, I never used a translucent loose powder before. I used to buy a compact powder with shade of ivory and nude (which suited my skin tone) and does the mattifying effect (because I have oily combination skin). But I’ve never actually bought a white translucent powder yet.
This may sound funny to you, but I also tried Johnsons and Johnsons baby powder to set my makeup. I saw it on a beauty YouTuber CoffeeandSparkle so I tried it. Yep, what works well on baby’s bum, works fine on my face too.
But I thought I try a different brand this time. Try something that is really made to set my makeup.
I got myself the Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Loose Powder. It has a soft and refined granules and applies on smooth and silky feel on skin. It does not feel or look heavy like another layer on top of foundation and concealer. Nor does it look dry, like scary dry after buffing off and setting. The translucent white powder shade makes a brightening effect which makes my face look fresher all day.
Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Loose Powder Review
This powder helped control oils and shines showing on my skin and lasts on me for a long time. Although I get washed out on my nose part. I have a habit of touching it, me bad! Apart from that, my makeup is set all through the day.
With compact powder, they tend to solidify like a hard compact eventually which is harder to brush. Of course you won’t get that with loose powder. Although there’s that issue of powder dust spread all over the place which for some people maybe a little tedious and messy. But for me, it’s all manageable and easy-peasy to deal with!
I got it from Superdrug at £8.99. I think this is one of the best bargains I’ve ever purchased to date. Money saving beauty product from the drugstore as I am sure I will be using this pot for a long time.
