Beauty Review – Revlon Colorstay 24 Hours Foundation

Revlon Colorstay 24 Hours Foundation Review

Here’s todays review of the Revlon Colorstay 24 Hours Foundation. Read more of my personal experience and if this is worth the hype.

I have a confession to make here: I wanted to get the perfect makeup foundation that I will be wearing on my wedding. I didn’t know I’ve amassed a number of foundations before I have settled for “The One”.

A perfect makeup foundation for me should be:

• Correct shade for my skin tone
• Longer stay on formulation
• No photography flashback
• It should have good coverage
• It should be matte and at the same time dewy finish

So when some beauty bloggers recommended Revlon Colorstay, I had to go and get it.

Beauty Review – Revlon Colorstay 24 Hours Foundation

The foundation is in a small glass bottle packaging. I thought it was a bit old style look compared to most foundations nowadays. It doesn’t hold a pump which makes it harder to get the product out.

I got it in the shade Natural Tan. To be honest, It was too dark for my skin tone after I put it on my first try. The lady at Boots were not as friendly and helpful to me, that’s why I just had to go with my instinct and get it.
It has a bit of a smell, but it is a very, very faint one which is good.

The coverage of this foundation is from medium to full which is good for those who want a full on makeup coverage. The staying quality is really impressive. Though It ended up like a mud on my face and I had a hard time removing it. I was sort of scraping it off my face. That’s why I said I find this foundation stay-on quality is very impressive.

As it goes on longer, the shade gets darker and darker on my skin. To be honest, I don’t like it. It breaks as time goes by and since it is a matte foundation, I find it unflattering on me. The polish is smooth looking though, but I personally find it a heavy foundation to wear. It looks like a hard paint rather than a foundation on me. Hence, I had to ditched the idea that this foundation was the one for me.

Priced at £12.99

(I find it expensive because I ended up not liking it and have never used it again.)

It has several other shades to choose from. I probably got disappointed because I’ve picked the wrong shade. But it is not only because of that for me. I didn’t like the after effect of this foundation on my face.
I’m sorry girls. Probably many of you may have like or love this foundation. I rate this product 1 out 5 stars. It may have worked wonders for others, but it certainly didn’t worked on me.

If you have olive skin like me, which shade do you use? Because I would like to give it another try.
