When it comes to buying beauty products, getting concealer is one of the greatest purchases I have ever made to date. I have amassed a large collection in my drawer from different drugstore brands (because yes, I am a fan of drugstore makeup) through time. There are a couple of hits that became my all-time favourites and there were a couple of missed products too that were pushed further back the drawer.

But then again, it seemed that I still haven’t got enough concealer yet because once again, another one bites the dust! This time I’ve picked up the Rimmel Hide The Blemish Concealer when I went to Boots and here is my quick review:

What makes Rimmel Hide The Blemish Concealer better than the rest?

It claim: “A creamy concealer stick that blends to camouflage any skin imperfection. Gives complexion a smooth even appearance.” (Source: Boots) Rimmel Hide The Blemish Concealer is £3.99 a piece at Boots right now.

It is very pigmented and can build up to a full coverage. The formulation of the concealer is very creamy as well as it’s texture. For me, it feels tacky though on the surface that’s why I buffed a little mattifying powder on top for a smoother feel.

My skin type probably isn’t compatible with this concealer as it didn’t hold on for very long. As it wears out, the concealer build up in one place. It also sat to where I have lines on the face while the rest of the skin is washed out.

Personally, I find this concealer stick a bit too creamy to my liking. I have oily skin on my t-zone areas. Whenever I put on something that is too creamy, it never last long. It also adds up as an excess oil on the skin.

This will probably suit those who have dry skin type, or who have just started putting on makeup like students. It does not mean that if it didn’t work for me, it won’t work for you too. A £3.99 a piece doesn’t really break the budget, is it?

Which drugstore concealer is your current favourite?
