Lifestyle – Travel Makeup Bag Must Haves – Pack Like a PRO

travel makeup bag must have tips

Travel makeup bag isn’t the easiest thing to do. But here’s some tips for you to pack like a PRO and fill your travel makeup bag with must haves!

When you think of travelling, you feel happy and excited. But then, you instantly remember the grossest part of travelling which is packing. The amount of stress we are dealing with is beyond every limit: have I packed everything I need? What if I get sick? Let’s go and buy an entire pharmacy rack. Oh, and where is my toothbrush?

First of all, you need to relax. Unless you are visiting amazon rain forest, Sahara desert, or you have a special kind of emotional connection with your toothbrush – whatever you forget at home you can buy on the road. It’s not like only your city has stores, you know? Now that you are relaxed let’s talk about our biggest packing trouble maker of them all – the vanity case.

Invest in a right makeup bag for start

Let’s get one thing straight first – this doesn’t mean that you need to buy a makeup bag which is the same size as your suitcase. This means that you should get a makeup bag which is big enough to keep all your cosmetics snugged inside and make sure that they don’t bounce and brake.

It needs to be transparent. Easy to clean and also to have lots of inner compartments so you can organize your stuff easily. The best thing would be to arrange your cosmetics is by color. And put them in smaller plastic bags. If you are lacking something and you don’t have time to go shopping for cosmetics you can find all the quality cosmetics online.

Main cosmetics

Let’s start with the basics shall we? First of all, the important thing you need to be aware of is that you can’t bring anything over 3.4 ounces (100 ml) in your carry-on. If your bottles are bigger than that, lotions, bath soaps, shampoos, micellar water etc. should all be carried in specially designed travel bottles.

You can even put your face cream into a smaller pack. Before leaving the airport separate your “wet” (liquid) and “dry” (solid) makeup and cosmetic products and put all the “wet”products in the quart size bag where you will also put toothpaste, liquid powder etc. just to make sure it doesn’t spill.

Keep your makeup to minimum. Try packing as many multi-purpose products as you can and only bring what’s necessary – powder, eyebrow kit, blush and bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, highlighter and 2 shades of lipstick would be perfectly enough (one nude and one a little bit stronger).

If you prefer more makeup, the great trick would be to bring more shades of lipstick. You can melt them and put them in used eye shadow boxes. As for the brushes, the best would be not to bring any at all (since they take a lot of space), but if you have to (because of the blush and the bronzer) just bring one little blush brush. Oh, and make sure that you don’t forget to bring a small hairbrush, too.

From all the rush around packing, we usually tend to forget to pack our toothbrushes (if we don’t have those special travel ones). To make sure that this doesn’t happen, put a toothbrush box in your vanity case to remind you when you open it. But even if you forget it, don’t freak out, because, just like we said, wherever you go you can buy everything you forgot to bring.
